The metaverse is expected to be worth US$5 trillion by 2030. Brand, corporates, governments, and financial institutions are creating their own presence in the metaverse (regardless of the technical definition). Big Four accounting & consulting firm, KPMG is not an exception. In June 2022, KPMG spent US$30 million on web3-based training. Now, the company has created a new position, Head of Metaverse Futures, and appointed an industry veteran, Alyse Sue, to this position. One KPI is to build multimillion-dollar business opportunities from the metaverse by 2025.
KPMG is not alone, Ernest Young, another Big Four accounting & consultancy firm, created EY Wavespace to allow customers and employees to interact on an immersive level. The EY Wavespace lab allows customers to receive consultation in areas such as 3D design, game development, and human experience design.
