The UAE has been ranked as the fourth most-interested country in the metaverse around the world, according to a study by the Hungarian company Brokerchooser. Other Arab countries that appeared on the list include Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Bahrain.
The findings
- The study analyzed the metaverse-related Google searches per million people to reveal the countries interested the most in the metaverse technology.
- The UAE was in fourth place globally, with an average of 1,921 searches per million people in the country and an average monthly searches of 19,000.
- Morocco came in 26th position, with 488 searches per million, while Saudi Arabia came in 36th with 221 per million people.
- Egypt followed Saudi Arabia at 37th place, with 215 searches per million and an average of 22,000 overall. Bahrain was at the 45th position, with an average of 118 searches per million.
- When searching about metaverse, some of the most common questions that people were interested in were, ‘What is the metaverse?’, ‘How to invest in the metaverse?’, and ‘How to buy land in the metaverse?’
- Singapore topped the list worldwide as the most-interested nation in the metaverse, with 3,166 searches per million people, even though authorities have recently warned people from non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and metaverse land.
